Well, hello internet. I am going to Japan in a week, and will return to the states 8 months after that. Having thought long and hard concerning how to "keep up with the folks back home" with a "minimum of effort," I am officially resurrecting this tired old corner of the internet and pressing it back into service so my tired, insipid descriptions of my life can rot on blogger (/google's) servers for ever and ever. This really is the best way, as facebook would inundate the people I barely barely know with minute updates regularly, and creating a "mass email list" brings forth the cringeworthy task of quantifying friendships enough to decide whether or not they want to hear about the restaurant I went to last night. It also avoids the perpetual fear of "RSO fair listhost signup syndrome" where people, having read about the first few shrines I visited avidly, now sigh heavily and delete the next "update from the front," angered that they were alerted to new mail only to receive another tepid report on how everyday life is everyday regardless of which heavily urbanized, peaceful, first-world country you live in.
Also I'm bored on my break from work.
